Oscar-nominated from director Deniz Gamze Erguven took both the best picture and the best first feature film prizes at 's Lumiere Awards.

The five actresses who star in the coming-of-age story also shared the "revelation" prize awarded to new talent.

Arnaud Desplechin took home the best director prize for his Cannes Directors` Fortnight entry My Golden Days, and Philippe Faucon won best screenplay for immigration drama . That film also took home 's Louis Delluc critics` prize in December.

Catherine Frot won for her role as a misguidedly aspiring opera singer in the dramedy Marguerite, and Vincent Lindon won the best actor prize for his role in The Measure of a Man, which had also won him the best actor trophy in Cannes.

The award for best French language film from outside of went to Morocco`s Nabil Ayouch for his prostitution drama Much Loved, which was banned in his country following its Cannes debut.

The best documentary category was a new addition to the awards, but the vote ended in a tie between Chilean director Patricio Guzman`s The Pearl Button, which took the best screenplay Silver Bear at last year`s Berlinale, and The Missing Picture from Cambodian director Rithy Panh, which won the Un Certain Regard prize in Cannes in 2014.

The ceremony at the city`s Pierre Cardin center aired live for the first time on Cineplus.fr and TV5Monde around the word. The ceremony also featured a special tribute to actress Isabelle Huppert.

Much like the Golden Globes in the U.S., the Lumiere Academy consists of foreign journalists and international press in , representing more than 20 countries from around the world.
